Cooking and Preparation Oils:
This is the best coconut oil I have found. It is smooth, tastes like real coconut, and warms easily in my hand for use also as a skin moisturizer.
Ghee (clarified butter)is great for dairy free folks. I find it to be so delicious I could eat it with everything. You can make your own easily too. This is butter without the milk/lactose.
I do not cook with Pons Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil as it is not as stable as the above oils. I use it to drizzle over veggies, protein, or specific dishes that call for it. I love this olive oil and it supports a local East Coast farmer!
I use Spectrum Naturals Sesame Oil from whole foods. I do not cook with this either. I drizzle it over avocado with seaweed and sprouted sesame seeds. So good!
Organic Coconut is Divine:
I think coconut is a perfect food. I am in love with it!
Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna is delicious for adding to smoothies, coconut milk/coconut milk kefir with blueberries instead of yogurt, and to have as a snack with other fruits to help to stabilize blood sugar.
Coconut milk Whole Foods sells a good 365 brand that's organic and $2.59 a can in the Boston area with only gum added, filtered water, and no other weird additives. You can also buy Native Forest Organic Premium Coconut Cream, Unsweetened from Amazon.
